Our approach is different combining clinical precision with a supportive, empowering environment for new parents. For private diagnostic imaging services during pregnancy, providers can fax ultrasound orders to 913-543-3014. Baby Haven does not call to schedule ultrasounds. (Baby Haven does not currently offer vaginal ultrasounds)

Starting with the first trimester, each ultrasound is conducted with precision, compassion, and professionalism in a setting that provides honest comfort and adequate time. Here, mom and baby will be thoroughly evaluated, with fast, accurate results sent directly to the ordering provider.

Diagnostic Ultrasounds:

  • Performed after 10 weeks @ Baby Haven w/ documented (+) pregnancy test & provider order.

    This detailed first-trimester ultrasound checks number of babies, how far along they measure, development, examining major organs, the placenta, and amniotic fluid.

    Gender can be revealed upon request after 13 weeks, and you’ll leave with printed photos and instant digital images to share. Results are reviewed by your provider for comprehensive care.

  • Performed between 20-22 weeks @ Baby Haven

    This detailed second-trimester ultrasound checks your baby’s growth and development, examining major organs, the placenta, and amniotic fluid.

    Gender can be revealed upon request. You’ll leave with printed photos and instant digital images to share. Results are reviewed by your provider for comprehensive care.

  • Performed after 14 weeks at Baby Haven

    This ultrasound is performed after your initial anatomy scan to monitor your baby’s growth, position, and overall well-being. It may be ordered to reassess certain findings, confirm fetal measurements, or check amniotic fluid levels.

    You’ll receive printed photos and a digital gallery to share. Findings are reviewed by your provider for ongoing care.

  • Performed after 14 weeks at Baby Haven

    A focused scan used to check specific concerns such as fetal heartbeat, position, placenta location, or amniotic fluid levels.

    This quick assessment provides reassurance and targeted information for your provider. Printed photos and a digital gallery are included. Findings are reviewed and discussed by your provider.

  • Performed after 32 weeks at Baby Haven

    This timed ultrasound evaluates your baby’s movement, breathing, muscle tone, and amniotic fluid to assess overall well-being in the third trimester.

    Results are sent to your provider for review and follow-up care. You’ll receive printed photos and a digital gallery for keepsake sharing.

Provider FAQs:

  • All diagnostic ultrasounds at Baby Haven are performed by licensed RDMS professionals with extensive experience in high-risk level pregnancies.

    Every study is reviewed and interpreted by board-certified radiologists, ensuring accurate results, clear communication, and professional care.

  • Please note: Baby Haven does not accept STAT or URGENT exams. Our outpatient imaging center should not be used as an alternative to urgent or emergent medical imaging.

    Baby Haven KC is a non-essential facility providing a private, luxury experience, currently available for low-risk patients after 10 weeks gestation.

  • Official referrals from qualified healthcare providers are required for all diagnostic imaging at Baby Haven.

    ✔ Submit an official order signed by a provider with an active NPI # via fax to (913) 543-3014.

    Please note: Patients without a valid order at the time of their scheduled appointment will not be seen and are not eligible for a refund.

  • ✔ Direct all patients to schedule their own ultrasound online at www.babyhavenkc.com.

    By requiring patients to book their own appointments, we have:

    1. Eliminated unnecessary administrative tasks and phone calls.

    2. Facilitated early completion of required paperwork, including policies and important FAQs, so that patients are seen without questions or delays.

    3. Maintained an efficient schedule, seeing all appointments on time.

  • Baby Haven operates on a self-pay basis. We do not bill insurance directly. Invoices available upon request. Pricing includes radiology interpretation.

  • ✔ Patients must Reschedule or Cancel at least 48 hours in advance via confirmation email or phone.

    ✔ No-shows and last-minute changes will not be refunded or rescheduled without a new payment.

    Patients are always seen on time. Please have them plan accordingly.

  • Once the study has been interpreted and finalized by a board-certified radiologist, Baby Haven will send the report to the designated provider.

    Reports are typically delivered within a few business days following completion of the study.

Mom FAQs:

  • Baby Haven operates on a self-pay basis. Pricing includes both the ultrasound service and the radiologist’s interpretation fee.

    Baby Haven does not bill insurance directly, but invoices are available upon request if you wish to submit for reimbursement.

  • Maximum of 2 adult support guests for diagnostic ultrasound appointmetns.

    • Children are not permitted at this facility.

    • This service is not for entertainment purposes.

    At Baby Haven, we’ll never end your screening without capturing a clear view of your baby’s profile and gender. With our experienced sonographer, you can expect detailed, accurate results and a thorough anatomy scan from start to finish.

    Prefer a Surprise?
    If you’re waiting until birth, rest assured, we haven’t let a surprise slip in nearly a decade. In sonography, there are creative ways to let you fully enjoy watching your little one on screen, and even receive fun video keepsakes, without revealing a thing. We want that for you if you do!

  • Radiologist Review
    All images are carefully reviewed by a board-certified radiologist. A detailed report is faxed to your healthcare provider within 5-7 business days.

    Results & Follow-Up
    Your provider will review the radiologists finalized report with you and discuss any recommended next steps.

    Role of the Sonographer
    The sonographer is here to ensure a smooth, accurate screening process, but is not authorized to discuss immediate findings with patients or guests.

    Important Note:
    We appreciate your understanding—only your ordering provider can review and discuss diagnostic results or care plans.

  • Diagnostic screenings at Baby Haven usually take 30–45 minutes, with time to ask medical questions, and provide comfort without the rush. We aim to complete everything in one visit, including the baby's profile and gender (if desired), to avoid repeat appointments.

  • There are no food or drink requirements for this exam!

    A full bladder is not required, but we encourage not using the restroom immediately prior to the appointment for a clear view of ovaries and cervix to start!
